This notice explains the data used by this version of Sofra. It should be reviewed and adapted by a qualified professional before a commercial launch.
Restaurant searches
Sofra uses Google Maps Platform to search for places and load restaurant information. Search terms, selected locations and technical request information may be processed by Google under Google's own terms and privacy policies.
Location access
Your browser asks for permission before sharing your current location. When permission is granted, Sofra uses the coordinates to bias the current restaurant search and calculate approximate straight-line distances. This prototype does not send your precise location to a separate Sofra database and does not store it after the page is closed.
Accounts and saved restaurants
When you create an account, Supabase Auth processes your name, email address, password credentials, confirmation status and session information. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are not visible to the Sofra site operator. Saved restaurant records contain your account ID, the Google Place ID and a creation timestamp. Current restaurant details are requested again when you open the saved panel.
Forms
Newsletter and restaurant claim forms are handled through Netlify Forms. Information you submit may include your name, email address, phone number, business role and message. Do not submit sensitive personal data. Form submissions are visible to the site operator in the Netlify dashboard.
Analytics and hosting
The site is hosted on Netlify. If Netlify Web Analytics is enabled, aggregate page views, approximate unique visitors, traffic sources, pages and bandwidth may be measured using server logs. Sofra does not use this information to identify individual visitors.
Third-party links
Restaurant cards may link to Google Maps, restaurant websites and third-party data providers. Their privacy practices apply after you leave Sofra.
Your choices
- Decline browser location permission and search manually by city or district.
- Remove individual saved restaurants or clear the entire saved list.
- Sign out to remove the active account session from the browser.
- Request account deletion or correction through the operator contact details once published.
- Avoid submitting a form if you do not want the information stored in Netlify.
